RM23 WEEK 3: IN REVIEW

There were many stars, both offensively and defensively, on Sunday when the Philadelphia Eagles obliterated the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-3. Perhaps no player shined brighter than safety Rodney McLeod.

McLeod, who was signed via free agency this offseason, had an impressive interception in the end zone to seal the Steelers’ fate.

In addition to that eye-opening pick, he had five tackles, and two passes defended. McLeod’s five tackles had him tied for the second most on the Eagles’ defense on Sunday.

McLeod and fellow safety Malcolm Jenkins have been great anchors for their team’s defense through the first three games. Jenkins had five tackles and three passes defended in the victory.

The defensive lineman up front deserved a lot of credit as well, considering Ben Roethlisberger was under duress constantly. The unit sacked Pittsburgh’s signal-caller four times and hit him eight.

Roethlisberger gave the ball away twice in the game, once on McLeod’s interception and again when Fletcher Cox stripped him in the backfield. Brandon Graham recovered the fumble.

Throughout the game, Philadelphia’s defense was the dominant force on the field. McLeod led the team with his pass defense and his physicality. At least for now, the Eagles have put to rest any critics who thought they would disappoint against truly good NFL teams.
